The design process...
Brief...
This is the first step in the design process. You submit to us essential information regarding your business, your product or service. We like to know at this point how you see your company past, present and future. The brief helps us develop a picture of you and helps to give us inspiration for the design process. Briefs can be submitted in a number of ways; short on-line questionnaire, telephone, email or meeting.
Here is a checklist of some of the things you might want to include in your brief:
- Business background
who are your customers and target market, who are your main competitors, what are you brand guidelines (click here for more info about branding)
- Project objectives
what you want to achieve with the design and how will it be used
- Restrictions on the design
does the new designs have to fit with existing brand elements, are there any legal or technical requirements to be considered
- Creative direction
style; materials; tone; mood; communication and usability
- Project management
budgets; schedule and deadlines; details of the team or person liaising with the designers and managing the project and how success will be measured at the end
Ideas are phorming...
Initial design concepts usually begins with sketching and getting the ideas down on paper. Sketches are then processed to the computer and as soon as they are ready for viewing we share the different routes with you. It's usually at this stage that we evaluate any quotations.
Review...
Working together with the client we choose a design route and our design team begin crafting the work for the clients approval. Refining certain elements such as colour and typography we will work on a design and welcome our clients input until the design is 100% phormed. We are fortunate to be able to offer our clients a complete in house service from idea-design-print with our sister company 221PRINT, believing that good design work shouldn't cost the earth.
Finally...
The client will have a real feel for what we are producing by this stage. We like to get together with our clients and when the designs have been phormed we get their seal of approval. In accordance with our terms and conditions payment would be due at this final stage.
